The Greatest Social Experiment Ever Known To Man
I and many others have had the privilage of being born in one of, if not the greatest social experiments ever known to man. This is America.
It is our responsibility to take the legacy handed down by our forebears, guard it, and then pass it on to other generations.
I see our liberties being watered down or stripped away by those who swore to uphold those same ideals. All in the name of meaningless jingoistic slogans, and the Almighty profit margin, unlimited, and unsustainable economic growth by paper entities which have the same legal rights as flesh and blood. Entities which have the same psychological makeup as a psychopath.
I see a system entrenched and calcified. Unable to evolve to the will of "We the People". I choose to voice my dissatisfaction with those who are not serving me and do not have my best interests in mind. They are most interested in padding their pockets and job security every 6 years.
I see an oligarchy posing as the voice of "We the people" most of whom have never gone hungry or wanted for anything in their lives.
I see my hard earned money going to feed a military industrial complex which is, in it's very existance an abhorance to me, whilst starving those services which serve our fellow human beings. Our humanitarian obligations.
I choose to side with those who stood up against despotism when they saw it, and spoke out, inspite of the cost to themselves.
I will not be cowed by petty tyrants, fearmongers, those who spew propaganda and call into question my love of country, to further a twisted agenda of war and destruction which benefits a handful at the expense of many.
Jefferson, Ben Franklin, Thomas Paine, et. all, are infinately cooler than Bush, Cheney, and Corporate America anyhow.

The nice thing, Mama, is that we are in the great, big beautiful country. We have the freedom and the opportunities to succeed if we have the drive and the gumption to.
And the nice thing is we have the freedom to express our thoughts and opinions without overt coercion or limits. Ideas that seem "radical" today can just as easily become "mainstream" tomorrow.
And with that, I thank you for posting in my blog. Being as we are all decent, kind-mannered folk here in "Flyover Land" (and if we weren't, our grandmas would kick our butts), I figured it to be neighborly to post on your blog! :D
